Kia ora, my name is Grace and I am a qualified educator with various experience in the field of Early childhood education.  I worked in childcare centers for nearly three years in China. I also worked as reliving teachers and babysitters in New Zealand for more than a year. I made the move to Home-Based Education in 2022 as I was drawn to a career with children at the heart of it that also offered me more time with my young family.  I live here in North Park, east Auckland with my husband and our Two boys who go to the primary school.   As a family we enjoy hiking, fishing, love a good games night, and playing with our friends.

As an Educator I believe that children learn best in an environment where they feel valued, respected and heard.  Learning in our home environment is very much play based and child led.  I strive to set up invitations to play that will capture  each child’s individual interests, and form the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.  It amazes me to see the different ways children engage with the learning environment and let their imaginations take flight.  I believe that when children have agency to create and act on their own ideas the possibilities are endless.  What a privilege to be part of that journey with them.
